Colstrip and Forsyth wrestlers placed high in last weekend’s State Wrestling Tournament, with Colstrip taking 3rd in the Eastern and the Dogies two spots behind in fifth. There were 20 teams participating in the division.
Colstrip finished with 156 points and Forsyth had 77.5 points. Huntley Project took first in the division with 331 points.
For Forsyth, Payne Reilly finished second in the 120-pound class and Trey Startcher finished in third place 103 pounds.
Reilly lost the 1st place match to Huntley Project’s Gavin Nedens. Starcher defeated Glasgow’s Cody Kuka in the third place match.
Other Dogies participating included:
Ryan Wiggins took 5th place in the 113-pound class, defeating Huntley Project’s Evan Vonolnhausen; Crieghton Teeters won the 7th place match in the same class, defeating Gene Torres of Columbas/Absarokee; Kayden Shiffer defeated Arrow Huck of Fort Benton in the 120-pound 7th place match; and Gabe Vasquez took 5th place in the 285-pound class, defeating Hunter Wash of Roundup.
For the Colts, Wyatt Nelson finished 4th in the 113-pound class, losing the 3rd place match to Shepherd’s Kade Smith; Ty Borge, in the 132-pound class, claimed 3rd place, defeating Stran Lytton of Red Lodge; Dylan Grant copped another 3rd for the Colts in the 138-pound class, defeating Tegan McDonald of Columbus/Absarokee; Tryn Yager and Kai Heck took 7th and 8th places, respectively in the 145-pound class, with Yager winning their match for 7th; Zach Cox took home first place in the 152-pound class, defeating Brodie Ober of Great Falls Central, while Zaden Heck took third in the same class, defeating Huntley Project’s Grady Schmidt; Ian Willougby grabbed 4th place in the 160-pound class, losing out in the 3rd place match to Hayden Vonolnhausen of Huntley Project; and Trevin Bradley took third in the 170-pound class, defeating Chancy Segeberg of Columbs/Absarokee.
